'millen'
Millen. This is a great addition and TLR.css look forward to practicing hard and proving themselves once again at the iseries in August.
millen:
I'm happy to be back playing again after a stint of inactivity due to several diferent factors. It feels good to be back and im glad for the opportunity chef has given me and to be playing with such a great bunch of guys
Pez:
We have been looking for a 5th since before sYchosis2 (where beta played with us) & CLUK21 (where cauzed & jakem were mercs), as Tristan decided to quit competitive gaming. Once we got home from the LANs we went to, we contacted millen and instantly began to click with him. Everyone know's he's a great player and he fits into TLR perfectly. We look forward to playing wtih him at i34 and in the ED Eurokrieg in the upcoming months.

Tetrapad Edge Reviewed

Date: 04 July 2008
Mat Specs:
• Size: 250mm x 210mm (25cm x 21cm)
• Thickness: 4mm (0.4cm) - Excluding pad feet
• Base: Anodized Aluminium
• Surface: Ultra-Low Friction
• Colour: Black
Other Hardware:
MX518 with mouse glides
Three days ago I received the first edition of the newly released ‘Tetrapad Edge’, and I have been asked to write a review so here it is.
I have used many mouse mats over the years, from qpads, to everglides to steelseries, and like a lot of low sense players, I had settled on large, low friction, cloth mats as my weapon of choice. Upon opening the packet it was immediately obvious that what I had in my hand was in fact a long way away from a large cloth surface, but instead a hard metallic feeling mat.
The mat itself is actually nice looking (as far as plain black mouse mats go), and is basically a rectangular piece of aluminium painted Night Rider black. The bottom of the mat has non-slip feet in each corner, while the top is completely plain, but notably shinier then the underside. I guess this is the special coating they spray onto the aluminium to improve the glide. The mat, although nice enough looking, was smaller than I’m used to, and having never used an aluminium mat before I was feeling a little unsure.
Sceptical, I put the mat on my desk and fired up a game. My first impressions were that it had a very different feel to my usual cloth mats. It had less friction than I was used to and certainly was a lot smaller than I was used to. The mat also made rather a lot of noise compared to my rather silent old mat, as my mouse moved from left to right there was a ‘whooshing’ sound coming from my desk.
After 10 minutes of play I had forgotten that I was supposed to be road testing my new mat and was immersed in the game instead. When finally the game ended, I was actually quite surprised; mainly because on previous occasions it had taken me a lot longer to adjust to a new mouse mat. I no longer noticed the whooshing sound it made as my mate slid over its surface, and I had fully adjusted to the fact this mat was lower friction than my old one; and the size didn’t seem to bother me too much in game. This mat felt like my old friend I had known for years, after only playing for a short time, which is really quite an achievement and definitely a very good sign.
After playing on the mat for longer periods I really became fond of it. I was pleased how painless the transition period was between my old mat and this, and I was impressed with the consistency of the surface (which is my biggest problem with cloth mats that have been used a lot). Although I tested this using mouse skates I actually think I could take them off and not suffer because of it, the surface is so low friction I don’t think they are necessary.
In terms of the surface of the mat, it tracks my MX518 perfectly. Either surfing or gaming I haven’t had a single skip or jump, and in fact the mat seems quite resistant to dust, biscuit crumbs, tobacco etc which I am accustomed to finding in my optical sensor after using a cloth pad. This mat is definitely aimed at gamers and it does deliver where it counts.
Positives:
• Very low friction surface, with a very even glide -
• Easy to get used to -
• Durable – even the worst baggage handler would have trouble damaging this mouse mat on your route to your favourite LAN!
• Extremely easy to clean -
• Looks quite cool –
• Well priced -
Negatives:
• Slightly too small - I hope to see a larger version come out soon for us really low sense players.
• Weight – It’s certainly a lot heavier than my older mats being made of aluminium. But this point is balanced by the fact it’s extremely durable, and wouldn’t be prone to “travel damage”.
Summary:
(Overall 4/5)
An all round great mat for sure. If you want something with extremely low friction that delivers a high level of performance then I highly recommend this mat. Particularly good for mid to high sense players. Hopefully a larger version will be released soon, for those of us who like our huge surface areas.

TLR adds 1.6
After the departure of the last 1.6 team to Dignitas, TheLastResort have decided to venture back into the game by picking up one of the UK's up-and-coming teams,
Sexytime.
After a few good LAN apperances and a good finish at the ESWC Qualifier the team are looking to progress and hopefully become one of the best teams the UK has to offer. The new TLR 1.6 squad looks like this:
Sharpe
robbs
Sorted
mbk
Kenjinn
Psy
New Recruit Sharpe had this to say on the matter:
After a positive ESWC, we decided to seek an organisation to keep the clan going forwards.
This is a new era for the clan. TLR are a great organisation to be part of and we're all really looking forward to the coming LANs.
The TLR Management also added:
It's always nice to pick up a new team to represent the organisation and we feel by picking up sexytime we have found a team who can progress under the TLR name and can only become better. Even though they have change the name, we will still be having sexytime with them
Good luck to the team in the future.
