I read a great deal of Christian fiction. I can count on it to not go beyond PG. I enjoy it and am often uplifted by it. But, I think that what I've learned from reading this book is that when I read LDS Christian fiction I am uplifted by it, but I'm also given a bigger picture of God and our relationship with Him. There is so much more--such greater depth that our Father in Heaven offers us. That 'vision' opens before me when I read the words of someone who has the gospel perspective. This book [...]

Synopsis:Police detective Ashlyn Lawrence begins to question her life when dashing Tyler O'Bryan is appointed as her new captain. As Ashlyn fights her deepening feelings for Tyler, she is threatened by a succession of anonymous messages that suggest a connection between present events and the tragedy of her past. Perhaps now she can finally discover the reason behind her brother's mysterious death ~ but it could cost her life.

There are some laugh-out-loud funny moments in this book and the characters are likable. However, there aren't a lot of surprises here. You'll figure out the villain long before the characters do, and despite the romantic characters' pining, you won't question for a moment that it's going to be a happily-ever-after.

How horrible to see your older brother shot to death. After ten years and putting her life and dreams on old, Ashlyn finally learns (brutally) the answer to the only question she's had--why? Tyler's a pretty GREAT boss! Ashlyn is a pretty amazing cop! I really liked the way Tyler reminds her of the Savior's atonement.

Ashlyn Lawrence decides that she needs to become a cop when her brother is killed and the case is never solved. Years later she realizes that while she is good at what she does, it isn't what she always wanted for her life. Before she can do something different she must solve why she is suddenly getting threats and finish this last case.

This was such a good book. The strong part of it was definitely the dialog between so many of the main characters. It was funny, easy, quick and witty! I loved how the relationships followed a natural progression throughout. Great read!!

One of the best books I have ever read. Amazing mystery, plot, well developed characters and a really cute love story. I would recommend this to anyone who has good taste.

I love this love story with mystery shrouding it. The characters feel so real to me and I enjoy the twists and turns it provides. Definitely on my favorites list!

This is a very good book. It is Jeri Gilchrist's first book. She did a very good job writing it. It is suspenseful and will keep you guessing the ending.

This was difficult to get through. I did some skimming, especially near the beginning of the story. The main idea of the story was good, but the presentation was rough.
